The lies about which you are outraged

Published on 25 March 2025 at 11:32

At Iamtruthteller there are many things that make us stop and ask, "What?" Such was the case when social media posts started claiming desecration of the official website of Arlington National Cemetery.

An hour online proved the memes to be blatantly false.

First, anyone with a cursory knowledge of the world wide web, and access to a couple of archive programs, knows that such claims are nonsense!  We found fully operational links to the information supposedly deleted from the website.

However, it was what we found when we followed those links and did a small amount of cross-referencing that should make you shake your head at the lies being purported as fact in the mainstream media and on social media.

One of those purported facts is that the links took you to information about minority and female United States Military Veterans buried at Arlington.

Blatantly false. One link talked about a soldier who has no grave at Arlington.  One example of that is Maximiliano Luna. Yes, Luna was in the military. Yes he served and paid the ultimate sacrifice. However, Luna is NOT buried at Arlington.
We don't understand why there is an uproar about inaccurate history being removed from the website.

Want to fact check us: Download the app, "ANC Explorer" and search for Luna's gravesite at Arlington. It isn't there. He isn't there.

His remains never were. So, people are outraged about this? How about being outraged by the lies being passed off as truth.

The links removed do NOT tell the story of military veterans buried at Arlington.

Luna died in the Philippines and his remains were never found. However, those who wish to rewrite history would have you believe his history ended at Arlington National Cemetery.  At Iamtruthteller, we are concerned with truth. Equally high on our priority list is that Americans have access to the accurate history of our military veterans. Therefore, we decided to go down the rabbit hole of information to discover if there is an accurate historical profile of Luna available. Alas it appears as though, Richard A. Melzer, Ph.D, Professor of History at University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus, has documented Luna's life accurately.  Details are also available here: https://www.geni.com/people/Capt-Maximiliano-Luna-Rough-Rider/6000000015386378627

The geneology post, as well as writings by Professor Melzer note accurately that Luna is not buried at Arlington. Tragically, his remains were never located, but they are definitely not located at ANC.

Another of the links that has been removed from the ANC site supposedly led to the stories of prominent Female Military Veterans buried at Arlington. Absurdly, the second biography on the site was NOT of a military veteran, but of a 1930s/1940s era film and Broadway "starlet" by the name of Fay Bainter, who NEVER served in the military. Is she buried at Arlington? Yes. She is buried with her Navy veteran husband.   However, as such, the official list of graves on ANC Explorer does NOT even note her grave by searching with her name. Really? What are we removing? Information on little known Hollywood actress.  What does that have to do with our military or its proud history? Nothing.

Want to fact check us:  Here is the website that has supposedly been removed.  If a couple of old political journalists can stumble upon it; has it really been removed?  Note: Bainter is NOT a military veteran.

At Iamtruthteller, we are committed to the truth. It is important that all Americans see through the lies being foisted off upon them.
